pc shuts down

my pc shuts down automatically; i can't restart it by
pushing the reset button or the power button but the power
led is still lighted up. the only way i can turn it on
agian is through unpugging the plug from the outlet and
turn it on again but it just happens again and again. what
shal i do? any help is very much appreciated. thank you.

try pressing the space bar on the keyboard or the "wake" button if you
have one

Well, the reason you computer is "shutting down" is because it is going
into standby, to change this setting.
Go into the Power Options in Control Panel to change this behaviour.

If you machine will not "wake up" after pressing the space bar, or the
power button, then you might be experiencing some driver issues
Some hardware drivers can interfere with the Standby and Hibernate features
(sound card, video, and some installed by applications, like Quicken)

Try pressing and holding the power button for 5 full seconds.

You may be entering standby mode after 15 minutes of inactivity, check
the power management functions in the control panel and disable them.
