PC reboots when starting a program

Hi, I have put together a pc from parts around home running win XP Home,
everything works fine so far as I have installed the correct drivers for the
3D card and sound card but when I installed a few free and 1 bought game to
open/run them the pc reboots and a error message shows up on the desktop
when it is back to windows. I have installed service pack 3, NET Framework
1.1 and 2 for the ATi Video card and windows is activated. Im stumped - the
games dont need a high end video card as it has a good 128mb AGP card with
drivers from the net I found somewhere.

The pc has been put together 100% I know what im doing in that department
but not in this software problem.

Thanks in advance.

So, what is the exact error message?

This sounds like it may be bad RAM or weak power supply.

And probably the System Properties - Startup and Recovery -
Automatically restart box is checked so the blue screen is not
displayed before re-booting?

Good catch! But do keep in mind that if it is RAM or PSU that the
system will not be able to write a dump file and generate a bugcheck
error message. The OP should also look in the Event Log to see if
anything relevant is recorded.

Thanks all, I found the problem to be a bad 3d card driver so now im looking
to replace that.

I'll post what card driver I need when I look at the card again.

Thanks
