PC keeps crashing when playing games HELP please

Hi my pc is 1month old bought from pc world (yes worst place to buy but was desperate for one) and whenever i play games i either crash or an error message comes up saying i need direct 0.9x which i have or my graphics card is running to slow and needs to be updated. It only appears to happen with one game that doesnt seem the most complex in the world as graphics go. I would much appreciate it if somone could recomend what i do like system restore or defrag my pc. Its an ATI Asus Extreme AX550 series graphics card.

Install DX9c, and update ALL drivers. especially audio, video and chipset.
