PC just hangs!

I bought my PC in June last year and since day 1 it keeps hanging... to start
with I thought it was because Vista was new, but it's still doing it, no
updates have solved the problem.

Has anyone any idea what it can be?

It just hangs, usually once or twice a day... Always at different times, not
just when I am using one program so I can't pin it down to any of the
software. On a normal day I just have Outlook and IE open, nothing else,
occasionally I'll have Windows Media Player open as well.

I have to hold the on/off button down to turn it off, and sometimes it
doesn't even come back on straight away. A few times it's even said boot
disk needed at the start, so I just turn off again and it loads up ok!

It's really frustrating now!

Keep doing that and eventually you'll get enough file corruption, you'll
never get Vista to restart. :-) Damn it's a bitch having to be a beta
tester after spending all that money on new hardware and Vista to run
MickeyMouse's newest and greatest toy operating system.

Cheers.

Q: What OS is built for lusers?
A: Which one requires running lusermgr.msc to create them?

That is probably a hardware fault.
Is it under warrantee? If so have it fixed.
If not post back and ask for more help.

If it is a hardware problem you can take a look at the Diagnostics lights in
the back. Usually it is a row of 4 green lights that can change to red. It
is a code system. It is maker specific.

Go to your manufacturer's site and key for Diagnostics lights + your model
number. It will give you on-line documentation for the model. Find the page
where the light codes are described and see if it gives you any hint.

After that you can go online for a live concierge talk with the support team
at your manufacturer's. If you get ready with this information it will make
the exchange much easier.

Your advice around here runs from the ridiculous to the outright strange.
You have no idea what kind of computer the guy's got and your advising him
to look for flashing lights on the back of his computer! Are you this
****ing dumb? I thought I'd read everything you could come up with that
proves how stupid you are, but this takes the cake. Diagnostic Lights
indeed. What a leghumper. Do these lights also come with that Miracle
Spring Water you ordered from that TV evangelist? BTW, while you're at it,
check and see if there are any "diagnostic lights" on your friend Frank's
football helmet. Maybe that will give us all a clue why he's so ****ed up
too.

Cheers.
