How do I get my Dell PC to greet me again?

Start>Control panel>Sounds &audio devices>sounds.
At the top of the window you can set no sounds or windows
default.Give this a try.

Hi, if you have window's xp home edition....go to control panel click on sounds and audio. When page comes up click on the sounds tab. These are the sounds in your pc, all the noices you hear if you get into something you should'nt or in Instant messaging the sounds of a message coming in to you. Check the sound scheme drop down box. Mine say's" windows default." or you will have to go in and enable each sound again manually, so it will be custom for you. If it's only the greeting voice, (I have only heard it when I had a paticular internet service provider) So that might be something to do with whomever you get your internet service from.
