I have installed (successfully) SP2 on an XP Home installation. On
restarting the boot gets as far as the Windows splash screen and then it
reboots. This continues at every attempt.

I can log in using safe mode. Is there anything I can try before I do a
repair installation??

Incidentally, if I have to carry out a repair I have the serial number on
the pc case but not the actual Windows Disk. The pc is a MESH (which is a uk
company). I don't want to get halfway through a repair then have the serial
rejected because I haven't used the original disk. Is there any way around
this??

Failure to boot "normally" but success with safe mode indicates (99.9 % of
the time) a driver(s) problem. Evaluate startup items via msconfig - or if
comfortable working with the boot.ini file - use the \sos switch which will
show loading of drivers.

The problem was something to do with the 64bit AMD Processor. I managed to
get a fix from the website of Mesh Computers and that solved the problem....

Thanks for the help..
