paying off pop ups so I wont have pop ups!!!?

I need help with these damn pop ups. I cant work or enjoy
the enternet without being harrassed buy them.
At one time I was a proud Microsoft fan. I dont know
anymore. I feel like im getting a crappy product with
nothing but issues and problems.
Oh let me guess---Im probably going to pay for your

I had the same problem, then I found out that XP

defaults to turn the firewall off. Turn it on. For help
go to (page 2 "Annoying popus" Alan). I have not had any
since I turned it on.

you can get various "pop-up killers", programs which can
prevent pop-ups appearing, to find these go to
www.download.com however some sites can sense you are
using such programs and will not let you access them
without terminating the program. Its a problem you just
have to live with then.

look for info on enabling the builtin XP firewall. its easy to set up
and doesnt require a reboot.
