Pause at BSOD if "automatic reboot"?

Windows XP installs default to "automatic reboot" on
error. When a blue screen of death pops up, it is gone
before your can even begin to read it.

It's easy to change to "don't reboot" while the system
still works, but is there any way to keep this message up
AFTER a problem crops up? I've even tried to take a
movie of the screen and review it frame by frame

(Why doesn't XP have a 5-second delay for "automatic
reboot"? - that would make sense)

Try hitting the "Pause" key on your keyboard. Try getting into Safe Mode
(by tapping F8 as computer is starting). Post back with details for
more help.

I'd just have auto reboot off when things are OK. If it is rebooting
before you can get to make the setting, try a boot into Safe Mode, after
hitting F8 as BIOS info goes to black, and set it from there. This will
have bypassed all but basic drivers, so is not likely to be affected.
If it *is* then a repair reinstall is probably indicated anyway
