Is there a way, or utility, that will enable one to patch a slipstreamed
Windows XP (SP2) CD with downloaded post-SP2 updates?

I used AutuPatcher in the past but would like to know how to do it on the CD
itself!

Regards and thanks.

I'm assuming you meant you had used AutoStreamer previously to make the
slipstream SP2 CD and not AutoPatcher.

Anyway, if those folks had done what they said they would be doing then
AutoStreamer was being upgraded from version 1.0.33 to 2.0 and the new
version woul come with the ability to merge SP2 and all subsequent
updates/hotfixes/patches. I am still waiting for that improvement - their
web site and forum has been down for the past month or so.

A CD-R, by design, is read only. You can NOT patch a CD. You create a new
one.

Thanks for the response.

Yes, I did use Autostreamer to create a slipstreamed XP Pro CD. Then would
use Autopatcher to install the HotFixes. Sorry, I was not too clear
originally. And you are right - I think the updated version of Autostreamer
was actually what I was looking for.

But I also remember reading/hearing somewhere about a "XP Power Patcher" or
something that could not only add hotfixes but also add device drivers.

Actually the Autostreamer website (at least NeoWin) is still running at
http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=223562 - but they have no
mention of any upgrades to their currently version released sometime in
January this year.

Regards and thanks again.

Thanks for the response. You are right - I meant patching the files before
creating the ISO slipstreamed version for burning on optical media! I
actually did not mean patching the finished CD itself!

Appreciate you pointing that out!
