Patches causing almost complete failure of server?

Hi there ...

I decided saturday to install a bundle of patches for a server, bad idea. Of
those installed (in the order they got installed) -

894320
893066
893086
890589
893803v2
842773

one of more of them are causing my poor server serious problems. So I went
back and uninstalled the 6 patches, and came up with a working server.
However after this episode terminal services stopped working. The service
runs, not event log errors, no errors at all, but the service doesn't listen
on any port at all! Any clues on a possible fix on this? I've tried
uninstall/install terminal service which didn't help.

After the patches were installed, these errors started to pop up on the poor
server -

Application popup: userinit.exe - Application Error : The application failed
to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the
application.

Then all starts to fail -

The server {02D4B3F1-FD88-11D1-960D-00805FC79235} did not register with DCOM
within the required timeout.

The COM+ Event System service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1
time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds:
No action.

The Network Connections service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1
time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds:
No action.

The Removable Storage service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1
time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds:
No action.

The Remote Access Connection Manager service terminated unexpectedly. It
has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0
milliseconds: No action.

The System Event Notification service terminated unexpectedly. It has done
this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0
milliseconds: No action.

Application popup: svchost.exe - Application Error : The application failed

The server {02D4B3F1-FD88-11D1-960D-00805FC79235} did not register with DCOM
within the required timeout.

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Background Intelligent Transfer
Service service to connect.

The Background Intelligent Transfer Service service failed to start due to
the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely
fashion.

DCOM got error "The service did not respond to the start or control request
in a timely fashion. " attempting to start the service BITS with arguments
"" in order to run the server:
{4991D34B-80A1-4291-83B6-3328366B9097}

(TermService) {Not Enough Quota} Not enough virtual memory or paging file
quota is available to complete the specified operation.

(TermService) STATUS_TIMEOUT


Any clues on what could had cause this?

Did you ever find a solution to this problem???? I'm having the same
issue now =/

Unfortunately no, I nicked the server (took two weeks) and installed Windows
2003 instead.

So I never found out, why the patches resultet in 'catastrophic' failure.
