Holly

I have IE 6.0.2800.1106 (Ver 6 SP1)
I am receiving the "Cannot find Server or DNS Error ..."
for all sites.
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 831167 - says that a
patch is needed to fix this. I download the 32 bit
version and installed and restarted, but the problem
persists. I would tell MS but could not find a way to
reply (give feedback on the page is not working).
In the meantime, AOL is working and browsing just fine.

So, any ideas on how to get this fixed?????

Check your system for "hijackware":

You *must* seek updates for Ad-Aware, Spybot, etc., before each and every
use, even "right out of the box". But even then, they can't catch
everything. When all else fails, HijackThis
(http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
your files to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.

[Many anti-spyware sites continue to suffer from a week-long DoS attack.
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page: http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm.]

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?

Just want to say thanks. I don't know if you'll see this,
but your advice was 100% on target. I seemed to be all
fixed. I run Norton, but I don't understand why Norton
does not pick this up.... oh well....
thanks again

YW.

Norton what? Neither NAV, NSW nor NIS addresses hijackware.
