Patch keeps wanting to install

I've seen this issue before but have no patience to DIG for the answer...

my old computer keeps wanting to download and install KB832483 (the MDAC
update)... HOW DO I GET THIS UPDATE TO STICK?

I did not have any problem when I previously had this up or when I set up my
new machine, but once I resurrected this box...

Help would be appreciated.

Hi

Most likely the MDAC version is to old on your computer so the patch
will not install.

This security update requires that you have any one of the following
MDAC versions installed:

MDAC 2.5 Service Pack 2
MDAC 2.5 Service Pack 3
MDAC 2.6 Service Pack 2
MDAC 2.7
MDAC 2.7 Service Pack 1
MDAC 2.7 Service Pack 1 Refresh
MDAC 2.8


I suggest you upgrade to MDAC 2.8 and see if it solves the problem,

Dun that, it STILL says I gotta install it.
