Patch For Windows XP Home

Have Windows XP Home, can't find the correct patch. Have
been to a trillion Microsoft sites, am told I need to
know which at home version I have. To do this, they said
I had to click start, run, and type in winever. It will
not allow me to type this word. Frustrated is what I am.
Doesn't seem right that it should be so difficult to get
the correct patch!

Who told you you needed it for want reason?

After clicking start run, you should be able to type anything. Are you
having other problems?

Click the "Scan" button and you will get a list of all of the updates your
system needs.
