Paste Link (from Excel) Not bringing in Excel formatting?

L

Livin

Per the MS article (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint/
HA102045551033.aspx) if I use Paste Link from one Excel spreadsheet
into an embedded sheet in the PPT, it should be preserving the
formatting... I cannot get it to work no matter what I try. I NEED it
to preserve cell colors at least.

Using 2007 versions for both Excel & Powerpoint.

Can anyone help... thank you!

Hi,

It works here for me provided you don't sue the Smart tag (little drop down
thingie). Use the Home Tab, paste Button, and use the little drop down arrow
below the paste arrow. You get a dialogue box pop up and you can choose the
paste Link Radio Button. That puts it in without PowerPoint changing the
colors and formats (which is what the Smart Tag option does).

Does that help?
