Paste is greyed out in Outlook compose message

I got the answer to this from someone the last time I set up a new Outlook
app, but can't find it now. Outlook does not permit copied material to be
pasted into a new message, someone provided a little program that solves the
problem Can anyone help? I just installed Outlook on a new computer and
can't use it until this is resolved.
 
Using 2002, 2003, and 2007 it works just fine for me. What version of
Outlook are you using? What are you trying to copy? Describe the issue a
little more fully, please?
 
OOps! I don't know how, but I managed to get two different issues confused -
you are right - I can't replicate the problem. I am using Outlook 2007 with
Vista and previously used it with XP. I think some of the issues I had
before may have been because of XP and not Outlook. I did have to do some
special work to get my husband's Web mail to work when he installed Vista and
thought I was seeing a similar problem here.
