I have an hp with windows Me. I forgot my login password. How can I get past the screensaver that needs the password so I can get my puter to finish booting
 
you will need to recover your password somehow. You will either have to try a password recovery service (google it) or i woul either try hard to remember it or back up your data and do a re-install
 
Try this

Try this ,On the logon screen , hold CTRL+ALT and press DEL twice
Then as the user, put Administrator
Leave the password blank ...any help ?
 
The problem is when the screensaver comes up none of the windows programs show until the screensaver password is inserted.is it possible to boot into dos type in cd windows & enter then type dir*pwl then delete username.pwl. then reboot? I can't even get my cd rom to open

problem solved.

Thanks all. I just decided to format hard drive & reinstall windows with recovery discs.
