James,

With all computers running XP Home, enable the Guest account, using Start - Run
- "cmd" - type "net user guest /active:yes" in the command window, on all
computers.

When asking for future advice, consider making all posts in the same thread,
this helps everybody find all the details (and a few more details would be
appreciated too).

James,

Do you have 3 XP Home computers (as in the last post)? XP Home uses Simple File
Sharing, which authorises network access thru the Guest account.

Or is this message coming from McAfee SC?

Please provide some more details about your problem. Is Guest enabled on all
computers? What is the exact text (and title) of the pop up message window?

Help us to help you. Coherence, and detail, counts.

Cheers,
Chuck

I have XP pro and can not find my password

On any XP Pro computer, check to see if Simple File Sharing (Control Panel -
Folder Options - View - Advanced settings) is enabled or disabled. With XP Pro,
you need to have SFS properly set on each computer.

With XP Pro, and SFS disabled, check the Local Security Policy (Control Panel -
Administrative Tools). Under Local Policies - Security Options, look at
"Network access: Sharing and security model", and ensure it's set to "Classic -
local users authenticate as themselves".

With XP Pro, and SFS disabled, if you set the above Local Security Policy to
"Guest only", enable the Guest account, using Start - Run - "cmd" - type "net
user guest /active:yes" in the command window. If "Classic", setup and use a
common non-Guest account on all computers. Whichever account is used, give it
an identical, non-blank password on all computers.

For XP Home, and for XP Pro with Simple File Sharing enabled, make sure that the
Guest account is enabled, on each computer. Enable Guest with Start - Run -
"cmd" - type "net user guest /active:yes" in the command window.

Hopefully, this will provide you with the answers to your problem. If not,
provide some details. We'll try to help you, but you have to help us.

Provide ipconfig information for EACH computer.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.
Identify operating system (by name and version) with each ipconfig listing.

Cheers,
Chuck
