Hi, I am currently using Windows 2k. I cant remember my
password to log in. Can anyone help me?

Winternals makes a product called ERD Commander which can be used to boot
the machine and from there you can change the local account passwords to let
yourself back in. www.winternals.com

I am currently at the log in screen for win2k. If I put an
xp upgrade cd will in will it run automatically and allow
me to upgrade or what would I have to do?

You should be able to do an upgrade without having to log
in. just boot to the xp install cd.

However before you do this, read this:

Reboot to Safe Mode, select Administrator, leave password
blank.
Then go to User Accounts in Control Panel and
delete/change the
password.

You do not need to reinstall if you forgot the admin or
any other password.

There is a boot disk you can download at:
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bootdisk.html

that will let you reset the password of any account on
NT4, Windows2000 or
XP.

Just follow all the default settings which are for the
admin account.


For an Win2k AD domain controller, you need to do more
than that:
