is there a way to bypass the password screen and go direct to desktop on

In Carl <[email protected]> had this to say:

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

1) Start > Run > type "control userpasswords2" without the quotes > enter
button > UNTICK the box saying that users must use a username and password >
fill in the information for the account you want to be set as default
(username and password) > click okay a couple of times.

2) Your printer, most these days, should start automatically when you send
something to it. All of the ones I've bought for personal use in the past
five years or so support this. They power down when not in use, when a
document is sent to the printer they happily turn themselves back on. Does
yours? If not check to make sure you have the latest drivers and software
loaded.

Assuming you are using XP Pro, if you only have one account (not including
Administrator) and it has no password, it should go directly to the desktop.
If you have more than one user account, you will get the Welcome screen even
without passwords. If your only account is Administrator, try creating a
second account with no password, and you should be fine.

As far as the printer goes, you have to push the power button manually, or
never turn it off. They won't auto turn on.
