Password protection on partitioned drives

In Win 98 I am able to enable file sharing with a
password on partitioned drives. I can not seem to do
this on XP unless I drop all the data into the shared
folders on the C Drive.

Is there a way to password protect my data on alternate
drives in XP Pro so that they are accessible only to me
from other computers within my home like I can do in 98?

Thanks,
Kim

My drives are shared out on my PC. I can access them
from any other computer in the house, but I do not want
the kids to get in them, consequently I would like to PW
protect the additional drives.

By doing this, I do not see a shortcut on the shared
directory in C in order to try and manipulate any
password.

I have looked around and saw that there are additional
software programs that can be purchased in order to do
this, but I know that 98 does this as my back up is on a
98 machine and is PW protected and I must enter it in to
access it from any other computer. THis is what I wanted
to do on the XP system and have no knowledge on how to do
that except for moving my data to the shared directory on
the OS drive. THis defeates the purpose of partioning
my data to protect it in the event of a corrupt OS or
boot failure, and I really do not want to move 30-40 gig
of data to my C drive, as I Will only have to rebuild
then as my OS drive is only large enough to accomodate
Windows and Office.

HELP!
