Password Protect Screensaver

I always used to have my screensaver password protected. But one day it
wasn't, and the option on the screensaver properties just disappeared. I
only use the windows screensavers, no downloaded ones. I'm assuming malware
of some sort did this, even though I use spysweeper and MS Anti-Spyware.
Anybody know how to fix this. Like I said, the option isn't even there to
enable password protect feature when the screensaver comes on. Thanks, any
help is appreciated.

Sorry, Thought I posted enough info. The option is totally not there. It
has disappeared. I use a D-Link D-604 router to share the internet
connection with 2 computers and 2 xbox's. They have been connected since
February, but I've only had the problem since June/July time frame.

yeah, sorry, you did mention the fact it isnt there at all, my fault!

same on all machines or just the one?

if one, maybe rename the .scr file on the affected machine and copy from one
of the other boxes? (watch for windows file protection if you try to delete
the .scr)

also, check...

hkcu\control panel\dekstop

to see if the 'ScreenSaverIsSecure' key is there. should be a 'REG_SZ' and
set to '1' if you want it secure
