Hi,

I have just reinstalled XP Pro & sp2, and I am having a problem with
passwords.

My admin account is set so that I should enter a password to log in, but
instead, XP just goes straight into the account without asking for the
password. I went into User Accounts to set it, and even though I set a
password there, XP still refuses to show the password field on the intro
screen.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Jules

Hi Jules,

Click start/run, type "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes) and
click ok. Check the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok.

Start - Run - the line
control userpasswords2
Check the box 'Users must give a Username. . . .' and Apply

With that off, it logs on automatically to a user specified when you
uncheck and Apply
