Password problem

I am working on an emachine that will not read my bootable XP Pro disk during
boot. I tried to go into setup to check a few things but setup is password
protected. I have no idea how this PC got password protected. Is there anyway
around this password protection so I can enter setup? All help appreciated.

Change jumper on motherboard to clear CMOS.

P.S. This is NOT an XP issue.

some motherboards may not have a jumper that will do this. in this case you
just remove the battery on the mother board and then wait 30 seconds and
reinstall. this will clear out the bios as well.
