I have a second computer that my daughter's use and they
can not remember the password they last used to get on
the machine. The user name is Compaq User and I have
tried every password I can think of. Anyone have an idea
on how I can bypass this issue or an administrator-type
user and password I can use?

Thanks,

Hello

You might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:

http://securityadmin.info/noframes/faqget.asp#password

http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_administrator_password.htm

http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpassword/bootdisk.html

After using the tools recommended in other post, start
planning ahead and create a second admin account whose
password you lock away. It's the same as with your car:
Would you survive on one single set of keys?
