Password in recovery console

I am trying to repair a friends's pc running Win XP Home Edition.
On going to the recovery console, it ask for the password. My
friend do not know the password. What can I do next?

Try this,
Start | Run | Regedit
Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Setup\Recover
yConsole
Set the DWORD SecurityLevel value to 1
Exit Registry and Reboot
