Password forgotten

I have windows xp, a password was entered under the user name and now
the password has been forgotten. The system will not let me log on
untill the password is entered. How can I get past this point.

Log in into another account with administrative privileges, do this by
pressing ctrl+alt+del twice in xp pro, and enter administrator[if this is not
the locked account] and leave the password field blank[if you have not
assigned a password] and hit enter. Now go to Control Panel > User Accounts >
click on home at the top >click your user name > and overwrite the password
there
