Password files - Are they secure?

When Windows starts, I have the option of logging in as
the administrator or as a guest. If somebody logs in as a
guest, can they somehow discover my passwords? For
example, if they search for password files (.pwl) and then
can they open the password file up?
 
No, they do not have access, for access will be denied. But...............
there are several 3rd party programs available, some are sharewar
that will open them to search for passwords. Change your passwor
often for XP if several people have access to your PC.
