Password File

The administrator account has disappeared from my
system. I cannot login to the box since the guest
account is not active. I wish to overwrite the password
file from a functional 2000 system, but do not know where
the password file is located.

Joe,

It is not possible to delete the local Administrator account from a Windows
2000 machine. It is possible, however, to rename the account. Do you think
that maybe this is what happened?
