Password change problem while remote

Andrew

Have seen this problem in the past and as of yet never
found a solution. When working remotely and connecting
to the VPN a user is prompted to change their pasword due
to normal password expiration. They do so but the local
cached account information is not updated so whenever
they vpn and access any network resources they need to
continually change their passwords. The only solution is
to connect directly to the network. Is there a way to
force a sinconization of the cached login credentials
with the Domain? Any ideas.

I had the same issue too. I haven't found a workaround yet other than to
manually type in the user's old password which is cached in his laptop and
set password never expire.

If you find a solution to this problem, I would appreciate it also.

OK. The only way to do it, that I can think of, is that
our VPN client is able to initiate dialup and then it
logs off the user so that he may log in again while
connected to the network. If they have fast access it's
better yet. But I wish there was a way to force a sync.
