Passport Photo Image Program?

D

Dave

Hi Guys,

I have to do a project with images, and I need to have them passport photo
size. Are there any free (obviously) programs that allow me to do this?

I would be most grateful if you could please point me in the right
direction.

Many Thanks.

Do you mean resize them, to thumbnail size, for example?
You can do that with Irfanview.

You might give this one a look

http://bluefive.pair.com/pixresizer.htm

PIXresizer is a photo resizing program to easily create web and email
friendly versions of your images with reduced file sizes. The reduced files
are saved in a different folder, so your original images are not altered at
all. PIXresizer offers several different resizing methods to choose from and
can automatically recognize image sizes to calculate the best fit. In
addition, it can convert between image formats (JPEG, GIF, BMP, PNG and
TIFF), rotate images, convert to grayscale and resize multiple images in
batch mode. A great companion for webmasters and digital photographers.

The program is by David De Groot who writes some pretty decent stuff.

Image Scaler
http://nikoladd.prv.pl/
Image manipulation program

The programmer wrote this program because he got
tired of the poor quality image scaling(i.e. resizing)
in image manipulation programs like: PhotoShop,
PaintShopPro, Picture Publisher, ACDSee etc.
Which only offer the crappy bicubic algorithm.

The program is simple with some usefull functions.

If you need to resize a few photos
this program may be a good choice.

+ Opens multiple image formats
+ Good quality image scaling
(Lanczos3,Mitchell,Spline,Bell,Hermlite,Triangle algorithms)
+ Image Flip,Flop and Rotation(+/-90 degrees)
+ Mix with color, Lightness, Darkness
+ Gamma correction
+ Crop region
+ Undo function :)

The download file is 333Kb large (RAR file)

jpegcrop
http://jpegclub.org/
Jpegcrop - lossless cropping and rotation of JPEG files

----------------------
You simply select a frame in the displayed image and save it as new
file
without recompression (see also right mouse popup menu).
The left and upper border of the cropped frame are automatically
restricted to the MCU boundaries (16*8 in most digicam pics, 16*16 or
8*8
otherwise) by the program in all selection processes, so you see
directly
the effective crop area. This automatic adaption is actually the main
feature regarding the lossless cropping. The visible block margin
grid
(toggle by menu/button) in the displayed image is also an important
feature in this regard.

In the status bar the actual selection coordinates are tracked, in the
same format as used with the commandline "jpegtran" utility
("-crop WxH+X+Y" : width, height, x-offset, y-offset).
The "Jpegcrop" program uses the original (beta) transformation support
code of the IJG software, with direct function calls.
(Note that the "Save Frame As" action will cause the file to be
re-read
and processed in "jpegtran" manner which avoids the recompression.)
