Partitioning a slave disc

I just reformatted C: and I would like to re-partition my
D: drive (slave) into like 3 partitions, one for the
paging file, one for porgram instalations, and one for
documents. I already have data on the drive but I have
backed up everything important before I reformatted,
including important stuff on D: can anyone tell me where
to start? I don't have the money at the moment to get
Disk Image or Partition Magic though I would take that
rout if I could. Any alernatives? thanks.

XP's DiskPart utility is only capable of partitioning a hard drive that is "empty".
For example, if you were to install a new second drive, DiskPart can be
used to partition and format it. DiskPart cannot segregate current files from
free space, therefore, only a sophisticated third-party partitioning program
can accomplish this task.

The only way you can delete, create, resize or merge existing partitions,
and not harm your existing Programs installation, is to use
a third-party partitioning program such as Partition Magic 8
(www.powerquest.com).

How did you format C: drive?
Did you use a floppy disk or did you boot with the XP CD?

Well ok, I dont have a problem with losing all data on my
slave drive, is there a way to make it blank? I have
everything backed up already, how can I totally delete
everything on my slave drive, and then partition it?
Oh and I reformatted by booting from my drivers cd that
Gateway gave me (guy on phone took me through the entire
process) and he had me run fdisk.

You have your steps out of order. You partition a drive first and
then format each partition. You would have to delete the existing
partition to repartition the drive differently. Once the entire
drive is unallocated space, you can divide it into partitions based
upon percentages or size in gigabytes or megabytes as appropriate.
