initiate slave hard drive

I have replaced my motherboard and had to format my master hard drive (C:\)
and reloaded windows xp.

I had saved all my important files to my slave drive (D:\) but now I cannot
access my slave drive because when I try to open it, a message pops up
wanting to format the disc. Help...I will loose all my information. How do I
open the slave drive without formatting it.

What happen when you right click it and select Explore?

You will need to take the Ownership of the HDD:
