I bought a computer used and the hard drive is
partitioned. I want to un-partition it and format and re-
setup the machine with one partition due to not enough
space errors. How do I do this? I didn't get any disks
with it.

Depending on the operating system that you want to install, you may be able
to reformat and repartition the drive during setup. NT, 2000, 2003 and XP
will allow you to do this, I don't remember if the 9x family allows it.

Otherwise, you can create a DOS or a Windows bootdisk using your source
media, or go to www.bootdisk.com

You need media and a license for any OS you will use on this computer -
you'll have to buy some.
Once you boot up with a W2k or XP CD, you can blow away the old partition &
create a new one.
Note - this is a group for Active Directory - probably best to post your
question(s) on this topic to m.p.win2000.setup or ...general or
....file_system.
