hello, i've been reading around the net about this error,
which has repeatedly befallen myself and my roommate (we're
both using xp dell's); that is, a stop error in the file
ati2dvag.dll, which i know is a video driver. what i've
mostly found online is that it has to do with the hardware
acceleration display setting, but i don't want to change
it, as i use direct3D applications frequently. i've read
that the fix is included in the next service pack from
microsoft, but i don't really want to wait another year to
resolve this. is there any other way i can obtain a quick
fix for this?

thanks,

please? anyone?

If you know of a specific KB article and a specific fix,
call Microsoft. They will not charge you if that's all
you want.

sorry... thought i had, but forgot the important bits.

i don't remember exactly, but here's the event log:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck
was: 0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xbf9bbd42, 0xf07ec2b8,
0x00000000)

the error, if i recall correctly, also said
"PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" and mentioned the file
ati2dvag.dll as a possible culprit.

if it happens again i'll REALLY write everything down. :-)

thanks,

-brett
