PapaJohn,

In a reply above you said that you disabled the codec used by WinDVD 4,
instead of uninstalling WinDVD. Makes sense to me.

Question: How do you tell which codec WinDVD is using? I don't have the
codec you mentioned above. I have eleven codecs installed. They are as
follows:

imaadp32.acm
msadp32.acm
msg711.acm
tssoft32.acm
msg723.acm
Windows Media Audio
Sipro Lab Telecom Audio Codec
Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer 3 Codec
Indeo audio software
Microsoft PCM Converter

Any idea which one WinDVD 4 needs to use?

Many thanks.

The only one I turn on and off is the iviaudio.ax file in the WinDVD4
folder. I register the codec on and off using two batch files that read:

regsvr32 iviaudio.ax /s

regsvr32 iviaudio.ax /s /u

The first on registers the codec and the second one unregisters it.

PapaJohn,

Thanks for that. I can see iviaudio.ax in \InterVideo\Common.

Not sure how to proceed though. Should regsvr32 iviaudio.ax /s
and regsvr32 iviaudio.ax /s/u be in that folder too? Don't seem to be.

Sorry if I'm being thick! ;-)

Thanks again.

Just rename the file to iviaudio.ax_ instead of going the
registering/unregistering route. Rename it back when you need it.
