When playing a computer game, computer crashes (Blue Screen)

When I put in a Spider Man game for my son to play after the introduction it
crashes.
I am going to try playing a radio station and see if that works ok.
I am using a pent 3, 266Mhz, 80G HD. Creative Sound Blaster card.

Also when I use the Skype (voice software over the net) program I can hear
the other party but they cannot hear me.
I have followed all the Skype instructions as well as checked all in mic
inputs tried to record using wave recorder it all works fine. Mic on its own
works fine as well. Tried re-install still but problem the same.
