Exporting to DV-AVI audio problem

I have a movie with an MP3 for the Audio/Music. The movie has a combination
between video clips and stills. When I preview the movie in MM2, everything
looks and sounds perfect. When I export out to DV-AVI, everywhere two clips
meet, the audio skips, not bad, but it is noticeable. When I export out to
"Video for local playback (2.1 mbps NTSC)" the audio is just fine.

Is this a DV-AVI problem? Is this an audio codec problem?

These are the audio codecs I have installed (in order):
imaadp32.acm
msadp32.acm
msg711.acm
msgsm32.acm
tssoft32.acm
Windows Media Audio
Sipro Lab Telecom Audio Codec
Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec
Indeo(r) audio software
Dvacm.acm
Microsoft PCM Converter

Thanks,

MM doesn't often like MP3's so it may be nbest to replace them with WAV's
first.

Mr. Hughes,

I tried importing the music file as a WAV and this didn't resolve the
problem.

I think I will try "Sledgehammer to Computer" next. It might work. :)

I finally came to a resolution...

Export the video as DV-AVI with no sound track > Import AVI into Adobe
Premiere Pro > Import audio clip into Premiere > Export to DV-AVI.

Perfect Video & Sound.

Thanks for the help.... James :)

Thanks for sharing your success but I doubt it is of any value to us !

Man wow you are using Premiere and asking questions in the WMM forum. These
two softwares are miles apart. Solving a WMM problem using Premiere is like
having a concord flight to cross the english channel when you are running an
around-the-world-race on a bicycle!

LOL...

Seems kind of ironic... But, WMM is alot easier to to import, create and
export movies. The only thing wrong with WMM is it is not powerful editing
software. It was really made for the basic user (like me).

I bought Premiere Pro at the college book store (educational copy) for $199.
I quickly learned that it has 3.4 million features which was pretty hard to
just jump into. I just purchased Total Training for Premiere Pro ($120
educational price) but I have not had time to sit down and watch the
tutorial videos yet.

Even after I learn Premiere, I'll still work with WMM. WMM can build out a
simple project in 1/10 the time it would take in Premiere. And you know,
right now, most people that watch your video creations (with WMM) are just
amazed that you can put a movie producation together just using a HandiCam
and a computer.

Hi James,

I agree with you.... I have a dozen video editing apps, including Premiere.
I used to use Premiere for about 1 percent of my work and today it's much
closer to zero. It's still there if and when I want or need it, but I just
don't.

And it's not because I didn't spend a lot of time learning it.... more of
just a natural progression.
