panda antivirus component, strange name

I was wondering if any other panda titanium users could look in their panda
directory at

C:\Program Files\Panda Software\Panda Antivirus

and see if there is a program called Titjobs.exe?

I was surprised when my firewall requested that Titjobs.exe wanted to
connect to the net, I thought this must be a virus, so sent it to panda who
advised this is not a virus.

Why would someone call a part of their legitimate program "Titjob.exe"???

Wry sense of humor? Poor comprehension of English slang? Pervert? ;).

probably all 3.

it's not very professional though, I think.

Just to put my mind at rest, any other Panda Titanium users have this .exe
in their panda directory?

I have Panda Titanium Anti-virus 2004. I have Titcfg.dll, Titscan.dll, Titscan.mld, titw.cfg, and titwbk.cfg. If Panda says Titjobs.exe is not a virus, then I'm sure it isn't. Maybe you should ask them what it IS. Maybe it's something created by the update feature, or the self diagnosis feature. I believe Panda is Spanish. Probably doesn't have any significance to them.

What is the general view on the program, how does it rate? I use Panda
Platinum which I am pleased with.

I called it in too. It's apparantly nerd humor. titjobs.exe = "Titanium
jobs".

The last update seemed to have changed a lot of startup files - since it
happened the same time Zonealarm updated, I a bit puzzled about which
changed which.

titjobs.exe requests access to the internet after the virus files have been
updated.

when i didn't let it access the net, my options changed, ie "scan floppy
disk drives on system shutdown" became activated, when it previously wasn't.

i like it but have never used another anti-virus program so can't compare it
personally.

i like the way it barely takes up any system resorces.

Maybe it is mammary management software.

you have misunderstood what panda told you... it didn't (and can't) say
that something isn't a virus - it merely told you that it couldn't find
any virus it knows about within the file...
