Panasonic gs 50 cam

Will not allow capture of video taken . States that cables not connected but all of that is fine. It will only regonisee it as a web cam. Somebody last time Ihad this problem sent a patch which worked as it brought up another panasonic camera on the capture device choice not labelled a web camera . Due to a computer problem lost this. Can anyone shed some light on what to try? Would appreciate any help offered.

Are you trying to connect with a usb lead? If so connect with firewire.

Yes have the firewire in to no avail.

Ensure you have the camcorder in VCR mode and that it's connected to A/C
power, NOT powered by its battery.
