Palm Pilot Issue

I just bought a Zire 21 Palm Pilot with the expectation of a hot sync with Outlook. (This was the first of two Palm Pilots -- see below).

Because two of us use Outlook, we have one personal folder that deals with the mail, contacts (email addresses only) and the basic (but unused calendar). Then each of us has a personal folder with our own (sub) calendar and contacts.

The Palm Pilot seems to offer two unacceptable choices. Their own desktop software has a calendar that can only be exported in something called a *.dba format that is not recognized by Outlookor anybody else so it is basically an orphaned file.

Their Outlook hotsync program is Chapura PocketMirror (basic) that only syncs with the master calendar (that we don't use) and master contacts (that contains email addresses). It will NOT access the sub folders that we use.

However, for very generous price of $49.95 (only half of what I paid for the entire Palm Pilot), they will send me PocketMirror Pro that will access the sub folders.

I find both options unacceptable and am returning the Zair 21 to the dealer because of inadequate software.

Any thoughts on a hand held device that will sync with all of the folders in Outlook.

Thank you.

Peter

AFAIK, no PDA comes with software that syncs all folders.

I do not know of any that has a native sync for all folders. You might try
the program Intellisync as its been around for a long time and can be
customized alot and might be able to handle this.
