pale Office 2007 icons on taskbar - hard to navigate

Since I switched over of Windows Vista and Office 2007, I'm having a terrible
time efficiently navigating between my open programs and documents because
the Office 2007 icons are so pale I can't easily identify them, in particular
Word, Mail, Publisher, even Excel which is a different color is hard to ID.
On the Quicklaunch to the left, the icons are slightly better (still not
great). Can the contract of these icons be changed, or can I do anything to
make them more legible?

Thanks.

I just tried that and it made no different. I don't understand why the Word
icon on the open document box is not the same as the Word icon on the
Quicklaunch. The latter isn't great, but it's better than this blog of washed
out pale blue that doesn't even appear to have a "W". Am I missing something?
I can't believe everyone else can manage with this!
