Paint Won't Stick

When I print anything in Paint, it centers the item and thus prints a little
bit on each of four pages. This must be corrected each time I want to
print from Paint by going to Paint>Page Setup and removing the tick
marks from Horiz and Vert centering. Those settings will "not stick",
and must be reset everytime I open Paint. Is there anyway to make
non-centering the default? Thanks.

I'm using XP Pro with a Canon i560 Printer.

Hi,

Try reducing the size of the image first. Also make sure scaling is set to
fit a single page.

All right. I can't help you with your problem. i can however,
suggest you get:

PhotoPlus 5.5

from Serif Inc.

I just got it & find it simple to use. A couple of features I wanted
it for it had - I resized, then I pasted one picture into another.

This is a freeware version. You must register it. & they'll try to
sell you on their newest version that has more features. But even the
freeware version can run rings arounf Paint. After it installs,
you'll have to call their toll free # to get a registration key.
They're over in England judging by the accents.

Thanks Rick. Scaling to a single page does center it on one page ok,
but that setting won't stick either. I guess I'll just have to be sure to
change it each time before I print paint.

Paint is a very simple graphics editing program. It has very few methods of
adjusting picture size to paper size. You can click on File...Print Preview
to see how it will look if you were to print it. In your example you could
then adjust the picture size to try to get it all on one sheet of paper.
You can also use File... Page Setup to change from Portrait to Landscape or
vice versa, if that will help.

The easiest way is to purchase a better graphics program such as Paint Shop
Pro. With it you can Click on File.... Page setup and put checkmarks before
"Maintain Aspect Ratio", "Use full page", and "Center on Page". With
those options checked it doesn't matter how big or small your "picture" is,
it will be printed at it's maximum size to fit on the paper you use to
print. You might also consider using Print Preview to see if you might
change your print from Portrait to Landscape or V/V to obtain maximum size.
The "Maintain Aspect Ratio" will always control the height/width to prevent
misshaping the photo.

Adobe Photo Shop also has the print option to choose "fit on page". It will
change the dpi and may make the picture of poor quality. With Paint Shop
Pro, if this happens you can choose to "resample" the picture at a different
size. This allows you to change the picture size with little loss of
quality.

Thanks, I think I have Paint Shop Pro (old version) lying around
here someplace.

I remember many years ago at Nellis AFB when a B58 arrived
for one of our airshows. On landing he said "I think I blew some
tires". But, he had so many left that it really didn't matter too much.
I know how one J79 feels in the F104...I'll bet four of them feel
almost four times as good! Happy "Hustling" from a fighter jock.
