Paint program

My beloved son has an unfortunate bug. We run windowsXP
on a Gateway with 4 of us as users. Oddly, three users
can run and use the paint (under accessories) except for
my son. The program is there in the drive, I even
converted him to an administrator account.
But everytime his user name starts paint it says
"paint has encountered a problem and needs to close"
mspaint.exe AppVer 5.1.2600.1106 Modname mfc42u.d11
Modver 6.0.8665.0 offset 00017103

Hi JayFrancis,

Sounds like it could be a software conflict with the startup
programs in your Son's user account. Here's what to try:

To see if it's a software conflict: Temporarily disable Startup
programs one at a time, starting with Firewall, Antivirus, and ad
blockers using: http://new.jtsoft2001.com/windows/startup.php
