Paging File Error

Johnerick

When I installed the two 256MB RAM(Originally had 64MB)
and Installed Windows, I checked the Paging file size and
it was 718MB. After approximately 20 hours, When Windows
Advanced server Starts; after I logg on as administrator.
Theres a window (error) that tells me to increase the
paging file and describes the process. My PC has 512MB of
RAM and the partition has 4000 MB; this partition only has
the Operating System. When I openned the window to
increase the paging file, the available size was only 20MB
for all devices. I don't understand why this changes
automatically if before it was automatically set to 718MB.
What should I do?
Ps I'm a microsoft student and installed the version of
windows supplied with the Curriculum which lasts for 150
days. I installed Advanced Server to practice eventhough
my computer is not a server and is the only computer at
home; its only used as a desktop for home. If this is a
problem I can instal the windows 2000 Professional that
also came with the Microsoft Official Curriculum.
Shortly I'll be an MCP, it really interest me to know the
solution of this error. Thankyou

Usually occurs when the "Everyone" group permissions are removed from the
%systemdrive% Make sure that the System account (NT Authority) has full
control of the %systemdrive% and or the drive you're trying to put the
pagefile on. My Computer|Drive|File|Properties|Security|Permissions

The system account (nt authority) is the operating system's account and
needs to have full control of the drive(s) the pagefile exists on. The
system account is included in the "Everyone" group.
