moving paging file

I followed the instructions for windows 2000 (we have
server 2000). It created an identical page file on the E
partition but left the page file system on the C
partition. It is writing the new page file data on the E
partition now, at least it is larger than it was the day
before. I did restart the server after changing the
settings to E partition. Section one is titled moving the
page file system, however the steps for doing this, never
mentions moving the page file, they say in step 5 Select
the new drive that you want to use to store the paging
file. There is nothing in the instructions about moving
part of the page file and since this is a system file you
cannot do anything with it in explore ie. cut past or
copy. There is a note at the end of the instructions that
says If you move the Paging file from the system
partition, Windows cannot write debug information to the
disk in the event of a "Stop Error" message (blue screen
error

I'm hesitant to set the initial size and maximum size on
the C partition to 0's, because it does not mention this
in the instructions. It is my understanding that part of
the page file must remain on the C partition?

I would appreciate any suggestions.
TIA,

Arn

When you blank out the setting on C:, it will remove the pagefile.

The only downside is there will be no place to record a dump.
