Pagefile Question

I have 3gb of memory installed and pagefiles set on 5 raid volumes 3071 to
4095 on each including the boot drive on a Win2k SBS.

My problem: Drive C is nearing capacity. I need to cut the pagefile down to
about 2gb to gain space. When I try to set the pagefile to 2gb, the nasty
warning message appears...I dont want to create a headache!!! Can I set the
pagefile to 2gb and ignore the warning without a problem upon reboot like a
STOP error?

Thanks!!!

Steve, you can, but in case a stop error no memory.dmp file will be generate
for further analyzes.

Just go into Control Panel/System/Advanced/Startup and
Recovery, and set the Debugging information to None.

Sure you can. A minimum of 25MB is necessary. Just make sure your pagefile.sys is in a location with NTFS permissions Everyone Full Control. Note this is NOT a security risk. Otherwise make sure System has Full Control where it sits.

Steve,

Do you or anyone you know have the expertise to analyze a memory dump file
in the case of a crash? Are you doing hardcore database applications or
programming where memory registers would be useful to you in analyzing
problems?

If no, don't worry about it.
