Page numbers on Footer - page 1 of 2

Good Morning !

I have a two page document and want the footer on the lower left to say
"Page 1 of 2" on the first page and "Page 2 of 2" on the lower right.

Any help would be brilliant !!

and "Page 2 of 2" on page two.

In the footer, insert the following fields and text:

Page { PAGE } of { NUMPAGES }

To insert each pair of field delimiters, { }, press Ctrl+F9. Type the code
as shown. Use F9 to update. If necessary, press Alt+F9 to hide field codes
again.

Yes It works !!!

That's really good - I was a little confused at first because it looked like
it would print the code, but Print Preview showed otherwise!

Glad I could help.

Note that Alt+F9 shows/hides field codes; there there is a separate setting
to print it (should you ever want to do that), namely on the Print tab of
Tools | Options (Word 97-2003), or in the Display category of Office button
| Word Options (Word 2007).

Correction:

It's in the Advanced category (Word 2007): "Print field codes instead of
their values" in the Print section.

I'm glad you mentioned the ALT-F9 as I had a footer which has "page 1 of 2"
on the lower left and "July 2007" on the lower right.

It was hard to align them both with the code still showing so I kept using
print preview, but now with ALT-F9 I can do it in normal view.

I know I will use it so much more often now.

And yes, I am on Word 2007, it's great, so thanks for the pointer on the
printing field codes option.
