page numbering

Help - I have tried both suggested ways and neither have
worked for me. Am I missing a step?
-----Original Message-----
If your page numbers are in the header or footer, double-
click to edit. The little "Header and Footer" toolbar
that appears has 3 icons in a group for page numbering.
The first one is to insert the page number, the second one
is to insert the total number of pages, and the third one
is to "Format Page Number". Click this icon, and a
response window appears, in which you can specify the type
of number (Roman, Arabic, letters, etc.) At the bottom,
you can also specify which number to start with.

Hi Sue,

In the header or footer depending upon where you want the page numbers to
appear, insert the following field construction using Ctrl+F9 to insert each
pair of field delimiters:

{ IF { PAGE } > 2 { = { PAGE } - 2 } }

Use Alt+F9 to toggle off the field codes.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a consulting basis.

Hope this helps
