In header I can easily insert page numbers by a short procedure (Alt+I+U) But
I want to insert (Contd…to…Page No.2) in footer. Whenever I enter
(Contd…to…Page No.2) in footer of first page, in Words 2003 header page
number also change into 2. Can anyone help me in this matter?

If you're changing the page numbering, it will change everywhere. In order
to have the number of the following page in your footer, you'll need to have
a calculated field for the number: { = { PAGE } + 1 }.

You must use CTRL+F9 to insert the bracket pairs {}
