page can not be displayed

running Windows Xp Sp2, removed several viruses and spyware using AVG
anti-virus, ad-aware 6 & spybot serach & destroy, disabled windows firewall,
tried uninstalling and reinstalling internet explorer under add/remove
windows components, tried different web sites, still receive page an not be
displayed, it shows computer sending and receiving packet through connection
to DSL but unable to veiw websites. Is there a way to remove and install
internet explorer or repair it or if anyone has any information on this
problem please let me know?
